I use the term data store to represent a DWH or a data lake or any combination of storage systems you may need to make your platform work (s3, glacier, vector databases, graph databases,etc…) My 2021 article was limited to exploring DWH but I fully appreciate some data platforms will have to adopt multiple “data stores” in order to solve their business problems
